I’m thrilled to be participating in Women Build 2025, a fundraiser supporting Pensacola Habitat for Humanity Inc. for the 5th year! 

I’m passionate about this cause because I love to see the pride in the parent or couple's eyes. Or the excitement in the kids as they pick their room and say to us, "This will be MY OWN room!!" as they stand in the middle of a framed room (my team frames in the homes). Nothing but standing 2 X 4s, with Bible verses, Blessings to the home and family or just words of encouragement written all over every one of them, but they see their own room and start showing us where the bed will be, etc. The parents following, in wonder, as they read everything written on the 2 X 4s outloud to each other and the kids, all with tears in their eyes.

They work along side of us at the Pub or any of the other fundraising events and become friends. And at that moment they are overwhelmed by the love displayed before them. 

With the prices of homes and even rent, these families need something they can afford. Somewhere safe they can raise their kids. And they help make it happen.

And that is why I need your help! And why I wanted to share with you why I am so passionate about this cause. Every year people graduate through the financial classes we mandate and are chosen for a home. We jump in and start raising money to offset the cost of the build. With the cost lower, mortgage is lower and more affordable for them. 

But I don't just sit on my butt asking for money. I work it off!! If you visit or live in Pensacola, during the Minor League season, you can find me at the Pub Concessions taking orders, pouring drinks, making popcorn or giving out orders during Wahoo's games or events at the stadium! I've worked movie nights with picnics on the field and bouncing air things in the outfield for kids to jump around on, employee appreciation events, community pee wee football games and high school football games held, strangely enough, on a marked baseball  field. I've even worked the college baseball playoffs, New Years and 4th of July events in the Pub and at the stadium. And they call on us to help man the Pub when it is opened or even be waiters to tables set up on the field. And I am usually there. They give us 10% of the front line sales plus tips when we man the Pub. 

Or you may find me at the Ice Flyer's Hockey games selling stacks of pucks for the Chuck A Puck event where they toss the pucks towards prizes. 

So, I don't just ask for every donation, I work, myself, to raise money. And any donation—big or small—helps me reach my fundraising goal and directly impacts this important cause.
