What is Women Build?
Women Build brings together women from different walks of life to make a real difference in our community. Year round, the women of Pensacola Habitat for Humanity work together to raise money and build a home for at least one family in the Pensacola Habitat Homebuyer Program.
During this time, they learn new construction skills, form strong bonds, and work alongside the families who will live in the homes they build. Women Build shows how powerful it can be when local women come together to address the challenge of affordable housing.
150+ women (teams and individuals) join together to:
- Raise funds to build a home
- Physically construct a home
- Build awareness throughout the community about the importance of affordable, secure, decent homes
- Bring new women and groups into the mission for affordable housing
- Have fun!
How does it work?
- Teams and individuals together will raise a total of $150,000+
- Teams and Individuals schedule one full day to work on the build site
- To be eligible to build or receive an incentive award, individual members and each member of a fundraising team must have a minimum of $500 in their account
- Sponsorship Teams: To be eligible to build or receive an incentive award, the team's total sponsorship amount must equal at least $500 per team member.
These individual and team goals must be met in order to receive annual incentives, attend the Women Build Celebration, and participate on a build day.
