Women Build brings together women from different walks of life to make a real difference in our community. From Spring to Fall, the women of Pensacola Habitat for Humanity work together to raise money and build a home for another woman in the Habitat Home Buyer Program.
During this time, they learn new construction skills, form strong bonds, and work alongside the families who will live in the homes they build. Women Build shows how powerful it can be when local women come together to address the challenge of affordable housing.
150+ women (teams and individuals) join together to:
- Raise funds to build a home
- Physically construct a home
- Build awareness throughout the community about the importance of affordable, secure, decent homes
- Bring new women and groups into the mission for affordable housing
- Have fun!
How does it work?
- Teams and individuals will raise a total of $150,000
- Each team schedules one full day to work on the build site
- Individual members and fundraising teams - requirement to build/receive incentive award must have a minimum of $500 in your account PER PERSON
- Sponsorship Teams- requirement to build/receive incentive award must have a team total that equates to $500+ per team member
Those goals must be met in order to receive annual incentives and to participate on a build day.
